About AGS

Hi

I’ve been playing guitar for more than 35 years and teaching for nearly 30 years. My musical life has taken me from teaching at the Guitar Institute in London to studying at Berklee College of Music, performing, recording and writing music.

I established Auckland Guitar School after moving to New Zealand in 2012.

My own playing continues to shape the way I teach. I’m interested in how musicians develop their ears, their understanding and their ability to express themselves — and how a deeper grasp of music can open up possibilities that once seemed out of reach.

I bring that experience to my teaching, with the aim of helping each student become a more confident, capable and independent musician.
